Engineering Production Coordinator

Bridge engineering, fabrication, and operations in a real manufacturing environment.

The Engineering Production Coordinator plays a critical role in turning engineering designs into finished equipment. This position works at the intersection of engineering, fabrication, purchasing, and project delivery to ensure projects move efficiently from drawing release through production and shipment.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, production leads, and company leadership to coordinate work, maintain accurate technical documentation, and improve the systems that keep production moving. This role is well suited for an engineer or technically minded professional who enjoys both technical detail and operational problem solving.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates effectively across teams, and actively looks for ways to improve processes rather than simply maintain them.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & Production Readiness

  • Review, prepare, and release shop drawings and fabrication schematics
  • Ensure drawings and documentation are clear, complete, and production-ready
  • Build, review, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve drawing or design issues that affect fabrication

Production Coordination

  • Coordinate with fabrication and production teams to ensure jobs are prepared for efficient build execution
  • Participate in pre-production reviews to confirm scope, materials, and production plans
  • Track project progress through fabrication and address issues that could affect schedule or quality
  • Assist with coordinating shipping timelines and final project delivery

Materials & Procurement Coordination

  • Support material purchasing and job kitting through QuickBooks or ERP systems
  • Verify materials against BOMs and ensure timely availability for production
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to prevent procurement delays

Operational Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation flow, project coordination, and production readiness
  • Contribute to the development of better systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Support initiatives that improve shop organization, communication, and production efficiency

What You’ll Bring

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or engineering coordination roles
  • Experience working with fabrication, production teams, or industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOM management, and production documentation

Technical Skills

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication processes
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting systems such as QuickBooks is a plus

Professional Traits

  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability for results
  • Ability to coordinate work across engineering, production, and administrative teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Interest in improving systems and operational efficiency

Why This Role Is a Strong Career Opportunity

  • Work directly on real industrial equipment projects from design through delivery
  • Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and operations leadership
  • Opportunity to influence how engineering and production systems operate
  • Exposure to both technical engineering work and operational management
  • Growing company environment where strong contributors can take on increasing responsibility

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and operational sides of engineering and wants to play a key role in building efficient manufacturing systems while delivering real equipment to customers.
